RAD's FCD-155 STM-1/OC-3 terminal multiplexer transports Ethernet traffic over SDH or SONET networks, enabling carriers and service providers to launch next-generation services while continuing to support E1, T1, E3 or T3 traffic.
Installed at the customer site, the FCD-155 Ethernet over SDH or SONET terminal multiplexer supports generic framing procedure (GFP) and virtual concatenation, enabling IP channel bandwidth configuration in increments of 2 Mbps (VC-12), 1.5 Mbps (VT 1.5) or 48.384 Mbps (VC-3 or STS-1) at up to 100 Mbps wire-speed.
The FCD-155 is widely deployed by carriers and service providers to leverage their optical bandwidth for revenue-generating Ethernet services, while enterprises, utilities and campuses use the FCD-155 to provide LAN services over existing fiber optic infrastructures.
By using the FCD-155, both service providers and customers benefit from better bandwidth utilization, service granularity and a larger selection of services.
